I’m off to see the world!

Filed under: Uncategorized — by tiredm @ 2:23 pm

Here it is: Today’s the day I leave my home for 7 long months to stay with foster moms all over the country next door! I was calling it ooohsa, but mom tells me it’s more like the u-s-a. Whatever mom! I’m going there no matter what it’s called!

I’ve got my passport ready, my hair looks awesome and I’ve had good long cuddles with my family. I was going to leave last night but my flight got delayed or something (mom didn’t say exactly).

I’m ready to conquer the world! I know Kung-Fu and how to be a pirate now so I figure that I’m pretty much as ready as I need to be. Oooohsa uhhh U-S-A here I come!

P.S. Mom says that will never fit on business cards and I’m going to have to cut out the names that aren’t really mine.

P.P.S. Mom says she’s not getting me business cards so I asked why I have to shorten my name?

P.P.P.S. Uh oh, mom’s getting steamed! Time to go! See you soon world!

Self help guides for Mischevious Sock Monkeys

Filed under: Uncategorized — by tiredm @ 10:49 pm

Mortimer has decided to get some reading done before he leaves on his travels. His passport is almost ready and I’ve got his travel journal all set. He thinks the needs some clothes but I told him he would likely get spoiled at his Foster Mom’s houses so he can WAIT. I did give into his request for hair, after all.

He got a big book order in today. I’m glad he’s reading but I’m not too sure about the topics he’s picked.

Your thoughts?

Morty learns how to be a pirate

Reading "A Villain's Guide to Better Living"

"How to be a Villain"

"How to be a Villain"

He swear these are self-help books, but I’m really not so sure….

However he’s been a well-behaved boy today so he’s going to go to his first movie! We’ll see if he behaves through that – it will determine his participation in Erik’s 8th Birthday party on Sunday.

Off to see: Madagascar 2 at the local public school. Popcorn and juice will be consumed. Much hilarity will be viewed by all.

Monkey trouble

Filed under: Uncategorized — by tiredm @ 12:52 am

Morty (as he’s taken to being called) needs some restaurant manners training. I got this candid photo of him as he was being hauled out of the dessert case at the best local cafe.

Lucky for him, the ladies at Cake fell fast and hard for his charms and didn’t punish him this time. He’s got charisma!

He’s started bugging me about hair, especially now that Sister Mary Monkeypants has her nun habit. Oi!

Monkeys can be Charitable.

My Mom does weird stuff. She says she’s a chapter leader for this thing called Blankets 4 Canada. I don’t think she knows that chapters are a part of books. Anyways she took me to this meeting where there was sooo much yarn! I’ve never seen so much yarn! And there were warm blankets too. She wouldn’t let me take any home but says she’ll make me my very own from whatever yarn I want!

Mom says that her and the people there make these blankets and just give them away! I say it’s a little strange but it seems to make them really happy. She took some pictures of me at the meeting.

I even helped with making the blankets! I sat on this one so it wouldn’t slide off the table. Everyone said I was very helpful! It was kind of fun, but I wish Mom had let me bring some bananas.

Mom says she’s going to put updates from my foster moms on here when I’m away, as well as stuff the other monkeys are doing with my family. I guess that’s okay.

Monkeys can go to College too!

Filed under: Uncategorized — by tiredm @ 7:19 pm

Before he sets off on his world adventures, I decided Mortimer should get some higher education. So he came to college with me.

He wasn’t all that impressed with school work.

He was a big hit with all the girls. Jennifer took to him immediately.

And by lunchtime he was happily eating a yogurt parfait with Tabitha.

He even sucked up to the prof! (I hope he suggested I get an A).

It was a pretty busy day for a small sock monkey. Mortimer was suitably tired and settled into one of  his many preferred sleeping spots quite easily.
